After not being able to find suitable
Openers for solid panel vinyl gates I reached out to topens who quickly replied without concerns and recommended a couple options. I ended up ordering the largest JY9132 opener which I’m sure it way overkill. I did this so I had a little insurance if the gate experienced high wind at some point while operating.
I added PVC wood to the gates screwed and siliconed on with through bolts mounting hardware.
To this point everything is operating perfectly and I would recommend these openers and controls. It took awhile staging everything but once it was all ready install was reasonable. Picture was during install, wiring was later secured to the pvc wood.
Self-installed the JY9132 heavy duty dual gate opener. Was a pretty straight forward easy installation. Good detailed instructions from TOPENS. Comes with two types of brackets (square post and round), and because my posts were 7" in diameter, my simplest installation was to weld the brackets to the metal posts. All-in-all, probably took about five hours including the brackets. The opener comes with a 24v power supply that will run off 120v AC or 24v batteries; batteries can be charged off AC or a solar panel (power supply includes an integrated solar charge controller). I ended up just on AC as the 120v plug at my gate is also powered by a whole house generator. Also installed the ET24 gate lock which really holds the gate firm in the middle. Would definitely recommend this opener.
